A Design Timeline

Having designed a number of sites from scratch recently, I found MBoffin's animated display of his progress in designing a site to be very interesting.

So how do you assemble web sites? I tend to start with the document head, body content, and then simple layout, progressing then to necessary images, layout styling, and tweak the fonts and colors last, adjusting minor layout issues like line-height, padding, and perhaps eye candy such as bullets and section backgrounds.

When viewing MBoffin's procedure, I was surprised to find it remarkably similar. I suppose that a certain order of doing things is just common sense - perhaps most designers do things in much the same way.

In any event, watching the animation is interesting.
